A night at the Myconian Utopia a Relais & Chateaux hotel

Hi, travel FAM! Today we will tell you everything about our amazing stay at the Myconian Utopia in Mykonos. A member of the Relais & Chateaux hotels. We stayed at this beautiful resort for 1 night during our trip to the Cyclades this summer. Have you read our Mykonos travel guide? If no, you can still read it here! One night was short but it was enough to enjoy the villa and having an amazing dinner at one of their restaurants.

A Relais & Chateaux resort

The Myconian Collection: a beautiful story

First of all, we wanted to tell you about the beautiful story of this hotel. There is something about a family business, that synthesis of heritage, loyalty, and emotion, that accounts for the strength of some of the world’s great portfolios. This lies at the heart of the Myconian Collection’s success.

“Our parents built the Myconian Collection from the ground up and my brothers and I are as proud of our roots as we are of how much we’ve grown”, says Vangelis Daktylides. Referring to the hospitality empire that includes nine of the leading luxury hotels on Mykonos. Three of them are among the five Relais & Châteaux members in all of Greece.

The Myconian Utopia

Set into the rock 300 meters above Elia beach, the Myconian Utopia Relais & Châteaux lives up to its name as the quintessence of sophisticated hospitality and sheer natural beauty, designed for true connoisseurs of Mykonos. In addition to seducing with the highest standard of luxury and service excellence, the hotel combines the natural beauty of its location with modern opulence. A ‘green conscience’ underpins the structural use of locally quarried, hand-cut stone and sustainable materials. Achieving a harmonious counterpoint to the iconic design pieces and customized furnishings of ultra-glamorous interiors.

Utopia is a firm favorite with couples and honeymooners who seek a romantic getaway in a perfect setting, minutes from the longest beach on Mykonos. The luxurious suites and villas provide every comfort and attentive service. While fabulous entertainment areas offer a variety of dining options, bars, relaxing Thalasso spa treatments and spectacular views. From early morning and into the early evening, sun-kissed guests drift from one temptation to the next, lazing on shaded loungers by the fabulous infinity pool. Or enjoying light lunches and cool cocktails that segue into aperitifs against the backdrop of a fiery sunset. Bringing a utopian day to a close, the pool comes alive after dark with sparkles that wink at the stars above, inviting to the first of the night’s many pleasures with an epicurean feast at the Pavilion Relais & Châteaux restaurant.

The rooms and villas

The rooms, suites, and villas at the Myconian Utopia Relais & Châteaux hotel offer a true experience in ‘art de Vivre’ on Mykonos – an escape from every day into a perfect world of sheer beauty that combines outstanding location, service excellence, and luxurious contemporary design.

Spacious master bedrooms and elegant living rooms are appointed with custom-carved stone, soft natural fabrics and beautiful design accents. Their villas include a fully-equipped kitchen and dining areas, as well as furnished terraces with a large private infinity pool. But also barbeque areas, and, of course, sea views at every turn.

We stayed at the “Grand Majestic Retreat” with a private pool and it was amazing. The villa was absolutely gorgeous. There was a beautiful private pool with a view on the Aegean sea and the coast. Also, the room was really spacious, and the decoration was made of white and wood furniture. We loved the minimalistic vibes.

Dinner at “Le Pavillon” Relais & Chateaux

With the famous Myconian night as its curtain call, the Pavilion restaurant delivers a star performance every evening. A refined menu in the true gourmet tradition of Relais & Châteaux is complemented by spectacular sea views and, naturally. But also an exceptional wine list that includes both international vintages and a selection of rare gems from Greek wineries picked by our expert sommelier.

Executive chef Nikos Moroglou describes his food as creative, pure, and authentically Greek. ‘We emphasize the genuine flavor of the ingredients without overdoing it. After all, the Relais & Châteaux culinary philosophy is all about placing emphasis on tradition and local provenance.’

We tried the vegetarian risotto and the pasta for the main course and the chocolate mousse for the desert. It was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant was magical. It was very festive, classy and romantic at the same time. We even had the chance to have dinner there when they made a firework!

Breakfast

Also, the Relais & Chateaux experience that is enjoyed throughout the day begins with a Mediterranean breakfast while taking in sweeping views of the Aegean from the Pavillion restaurant. The freshness of farm-to-table ingredients, including seasonal fruit, is complemented by home-made Myconian savory. As well as freshly brewed coffee to sweep up the cobwebs of a night on the town.

Indeed, we really enjoyed having our breakfast in front of the Aegean sea and a beautiful beach. It was really nice to start the day like this. Also, the buffet was amazing, there was absolutely everything we needed.

You are planning to visit Mykonos?

To conclude, we had a wonderful stay at the Myconian Utopia. Even if it was short, we really enjoyed the experience! If you are looking for a romantic escape in Greece, with a beautiful villa, a private pool and a view on the Sea, you should definitely consider visiting Mykonos! 😉
