the beautiful provence

Hello everyone! Todays let’s talk about our road trip in south of France and the beauty of Provence! As you know we are living in Bordeaux (south west of France), so we are not really far from provence. We are going there every year because we really love this place and it’s not so far from home This summer we have decided to do a little road trip with J-e and my sister! We have been from Bordeaux to St Tropez and we stopped by Valensole to see the beautiful lavender fields! Provence is amazing and there are many beautiful places to explore: Cannes, Nice, Menton…  If you are planning to go there you will find here all my tips and tricks!

After driving during 7 hours we finally arrived to the beautiful Provence and we were ready to enjoy St Tropez! Every corner there is just so so pretty. The buildings are orange, pink or yellow. There are so many cute and traditional restaurants, beautiful beaches and cool beach clubs!

On the first morning we woke up early to walk in the cute streets of St Tropez and avoid the crowd. There are many people at this time (july/august) as it’s the best time of the year to get there. The city is really small so it’s not long to explore but there are many hidden gems! So you have to be lost in the streets and you will find cute spots! For the lunch we stopped by a cute typical restaurant and we ate pizzas (my fave meal haha). After that, we went to a beautiful beach called l’Escalet. The water is amazing but there are always so many people. The night we went to our fave restaurant to celebrate J-e birthday for his 25 years! We’ve spent an amazing night.

The day after it was the final of the world cup so we went to our fave beach club the Nioulargo on the Pampelone beach to watch the match on a giant screen. When we won the ambiance was crazy! We stayed there until the night to dance and celebrate this. The day after we walked in St Tropez again and we ate in a lovely restaurant on the heights. After these amazing days we got back and we decided to stop by Valensole!

How to get there?

If you come to St tropez by plane you need to go to Toulon, it’s the closest airport. After you can take a taxi or the train. You can also rent a car. If you can come by car it’s easier, you come directly to St Tropez directly.

Where to stay?

There are many beautiful hotels in the heart of St Tropez. You can also find a cute airbnb or small hotels around St Tropez.

What are the most beautiful spots?

For me, the most beautiful beaches are l’Escalet, Cap taillat and Pampelone beach. For the last one you, there are many cool beach clubs. The others are more wild. But all are crowded in summer haha.

After 2 hours driving we arrived at the plateau de Valensole. This place is absolutely incredible. After seeing many beautiful photos of the lavender fields on Instagram I wanted to go there so badly! And we finally made it to Valensole! This place is even more beautiful in reality. You won’t be disappointed. But there are so many tourists coming for the sunset to take pictures! That’s crazy.

There are several huge lavander fields next to the sunflowers fields. We had a picnic in the fields and after that we have waited for the sunset. It was a magical moment. If come there, beware of the bees, there are so many ones in the fields. But if you don’t approach them, there will be no problem! Also we didn’t had time to go to the city of Valensole but it looks beautiful.

how to get there?

If you come by plane you need to go to Marseille first. After that, maybe rent a car is the best option to get there because a taxi would be too expensive. You can rent a car at the airport. If you come by car you can drive directly to Valensole.

Where to stay?

If you want to stay around Valensole you can find a cute airbnb or B&B. I think the best is to go back to Marseille to stay and also visit the city.

What places to visit?

Of course the lavender and sunflower fields but also the city of Valensole!

I hope this post will be helpful for you! Comment if you want to go to St Tropez or Valensole! And stay tuned on Instagram for my next trip to Rome in a few days!

Have a great day xxx
